Originating from Marseille, brothers Georges, Armand, Paul and Maurice Marcianoin travelled to the land of opportunity to find their fortune in sunny California with their fashion label Guess. The brand was founded in 1981 and is today one of the world's most successful fashion companies, meaning the brothers certainly made the cut. Today, most Guess stores can be found in the U.S. and Canada, although the label is represented worldwide and also has stores in South Africa, Europe, the Philippines, China, Peru and Brazil.
The brand’s real breakthrough came with their tight denim "Marylin" jeans. As a result, Guess became one of the leading designer jeans labels worldwide – despite a slow start as department stores were hesitant to stock the special women's jeans. Fortunately, Bloomingdale's ordered two dozen pairs, which quickly flew off the shelves.
Guess made a name for itself with its extravagant jeans. The fashion label succeeded in breaking through with their black and white advertising campaign, featuring the then little-known models Claudia Schiffer, Anna Nicole Smith, Laetitia Casta and Eva Herzigova. As well as looking amazing in the jeans, the campaign helped propel the models to stardom. The advertising campaigns won several Clio Awards, which are amongst the most prestigious awards in advertising and design.
Guess is not only limited to women's fashion, but also makes separate collections for men and children. Aside from clothing, the fashion label also has a wide range of bags, accessories, perfume, jewellery and eyewear. Guess only uses high quality fabrics and materials in its manufacturing, and these are processed into an exquisite, classic style. At Mister Spex you can view product images of Guess glasses from different angles to help you make the best selection. In the glasses range, elegance meets timeless design, creating a compelling combination to bring happiness to your eyes.
