Marc O'Polo eyewear at Mister Spex
Fashion label Marc O'Polo was founded by three friends Rolf Lind, Gothenburg Huss and Jerry O'Sheets in Stockholm, in the summer of 1967. They came up with the idea to offer uncomplicated, natural-based fashion made from cotton, silk or linen for young people. The first piece of clothing they designed was a patchwork shirt made from Indian cotton, which met the taste of the hippie movement. Later, they became the first to dare to print a simple single-coloured sweatshirt with the company logo. This shirt, available in 25 different colours became a classic and millions have been sold worldwide. Thus, the breakthrough was made. In 1975, the collection was expanded to a full women's and men's line. The “Modern Casual” lines for men and women were born. At the same time, the Campus line was developed for the younger clientele. Gradually, the product range was expanded, so that today almost all accessory areas are covered. Whether swimwear, footwear, glasses, jewellery or perfume, Marc O'Polo has something to offer. There is also a children's collection.
A European fashion label, considered to be a pioneer for casual wear, has grown from an original idea of developing simple fashion with style and personality. The brand's core philosophy of the use of natural materials and beauty in simplicity still holds true today.
