Monc was founded in London in 2016 by Freddie Elborne, marking a new era where quality, provenance, as well as fair and ethical production are as important as the aesthetics of the finished product. Every frame is made in Italy by a small team of experienced artisans. Monc values craftsmanship, producing in limited quantities and using the finest materials. Organic acetate is produced in Italy - from sustainable plant cellulose from cotton and wood pulp - no toxic chemicals are released during the manufacturing process, making all substances used biodegradable. For its lenses, Monc uses high-strength mineral glass, which is a more scratch-resistant alternative to standard plastic lenses. Attractive design, top quality and authenticity are the three pillars on which the Monc brand is based on.
